Solace Counseling Clinical Team

Camerine Anderson, LCSW

  • I was born and raised in Colorado, and currently live in Erie with my two daughters and husband. I earned my Master degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Denver. I work with individuals ranging in age from adolescents to adults. I am a person-centered therapist, and believe therapy can be beneficial for anyone and everyone. I have substantial experience in, and enjoy, working with clients processing the impact of trauma in their lives, and how to heal and grow, resulting in greater happiness and health. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, and traditional talk therapy to work through cognitive distortions and to increase awareness of patterns in behavior.

I have a wide range of experience working with individuals in different capacities including: substance abuse/use for both adolescents and adults, casework for Child, Youth and Family services for Arapahoe County, Offense-Specific therapy for sexual offenders, and gender-specific trauma therapy.

In my work with clients, I assess and process childhood experiences and relationships with most clients, as I utilize attachment theory as a foundation. Daniel Seigel and Judith Herman are some of my favorite authors for attachment theory and trauma. I define trauma as anything that has happened in someone’s life that has impacted their ability to create and define safety. I believe the therapeutic relationship and establishing safety are the most important aspects of therapy. I feel privileged to be able to do this work, and to be a part of someone’s journey of healing and growth.

I am currently working with clients 13 years and older and provide a combination of virtual video tele-therapy and in-person sessions.

My family and I love camping, hiking and being active outside. I am a loyal Bronco fan and so is most of my family. I attended University of Northern Colorado for my undergraduate bachelor degrees in Psychology and Dietetics. After working in the field for several years, I decided to go back to school for my MSW. I attended University of Denver to achieve my Masters in Clinical Social Work (MSW) with an emphasis in trauma.

  • I am originally from Northwest Kansas and come from a farming and ranching background. Because of that close knit and service oriented community, living and working in Erie feels like a natural fit! I completed undergraduate work at Middle Tennessee State University and then graduate training with a MA in Counseling at Trevecca Nazarene University in 2005.

Having served in community mental health as a crisis therapist and in private practice, I have experience working through a trauma informed lens with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. I have supported individuals and their support systems while navigating life with depression, bipolar depression, anxiety and related issues, trauma related issues, psychosis, life transition, grief/loss, finding balance in the chaos, and various challenges that come up developmentally or as "Life happens". Often times these difficulties are tangled with, or may be a result of, substance use/abuse, navigating parenting, family of origin relationships, marriage/partnership strain or changes. I'm here for it all.

I believe in treating the whole person, coming along side an individual and working as a team to accomplish goals based on the value system of my client. I have a foundational background in Cognitive Behavioral therapy that has led to additional training in Dialectical Behavior therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment therapy, both mindfulness based approaches. Understanding that everyone is unique, I believe it is important to also pull in other strategies in order tailor what works for the individual. A lot of what tends to be infused is compassion focused work as well as mindfulness/meditation as it seems everyone can benefit from finding a little more safety in their own minds and bodies. Often times journaling, utilizing a workbook, listening to podcasts, and/or outside reading is extremely helpful and accelerates progress. Some great authors I have used and come highly recommended are John Gottman, Ph.D. for relationship/marriage issues, Marshall Rosenburg, Ph.D. surrounding compassionate communication, and a variety of people for mindfulness including Thich Nhat Hanh. Not all things work for all people, the important thing is to find what moves you. I am currently working with adults and am meeting both through video tele-therapy, and in person Monday through Friday.

  • I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing individual and couples therapy for adult clients age 21 and older. I provide both virtual video tele-therapy and in-person sessions. I work with clients seeking support with anxiety, depression, caring for aging parents, grief/loss, transitions, parenting, women’s issues, coping skills, work/life balance, managing neurodiversity and other life challenges. I utilize Brief solution focused therapy to help clients identify goals and create change. My style involves listening to your needs and reflecting back to you the strengths and concerns you are experiencing so you can find a path forward that aligns with your values. I am also learning about Emotionally Focused Therapy and strive to incorporate these concepts into sessions, including with couples.

I was born and raised in Colorado, but have lived in California, Kansas, Missouri and Washington State. I received my Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Theater from the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas. My Masters Degree is in Social Work from the University of Denver. I have worked in a variety of settings including inpatient and outpatient mental health, child protection therapy, residential treatment, healthcare, schools, eating disorders and substance abuse. When I am not in the therapy chair you will find me reading, hiking, playing tennis or enjoying our shelter dog, Bella. You may also find me on the sidelines, cheering excessively and exuberantly at my sons' sports activities. They claim I am an embarrassment. I say I am just a supportive parent.

  • I have lived most of my life in Colorado, and I’m proud to call Erie home. My husband and I, along with our three children, have lived here for six years. We love the small-town vibe and the proximity to hiking and fishing.

I have spent much of my adult life teaching yoga, meditation, and preschool. I am thrilled to enter this new chapter of my life after graduating with my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University in May, 2024. My approach to mental health is rooted in the existential philosophy that we have choices in all circumstances. From a person-centered perspective, I work with clients to uncover and examine their values and beliefs and support them in taking action toward improving the conditions of their lives. I integrate mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and strengths-based cognitive behavioral therapy to empower people to thrive while enduring life challenges.

I work with families, children/adolescents, and individuals navigating grief, trauma, and substance use disorder. I hope to help people and families not merely survive traumatic and challenging life circumstances but thrive and grow. My role is to bear witness to the complicated and painful emotions as they arise and then support the individual or family unit in identifying strengths and formulating an action plan. I employ developmentally appropriate techniques with children and incorporate play, art, and movement into our time together.

It is an honor to work with people and families toward increased wellness. I conduct in-person sessions during the day, in the evenings and on weekends. Telehealth appointments are also an option, as are walk-and-talk sessions in Erie, CO.

Clare Mackin, Clinical Intern

  • I'm originally from Colorado, and am happy to have recently returned after living in Nashville for a few years. I'm pursuing a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University, with an expected graduation in May 2025. My journey into counseling was shaped by my diverse experiences working with children and families in various settings.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University. My professional background includes teaching preschool, working in a residential treatment home for adolescents, and being a nanny. These experiences have deepened my understanding of family dynamics and the importance of early intervention in mental health.

In my practice, I embrace a client-centered approach, believing that everyone has the innate strengths needed for growth. I integrate techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and other strength-based methods to tailor treatment to each individual's needs. I also incorporate mindfulness and meditation practices to address the mind-body connection.

I am passionate about supporting the LGBTQIA+ community and other stigmatized groups. I offer in-person sessions on the weekends and evenings for clients 5 years of age and older.

In my free time, I enjoy drawing, singing, playing guitar, reading, going on walks, and indulging in a good reality show. I am excited to walk alongside you on your journey towards healing and growth.

Megan Reichstein, LPC

  • My Name is Megan Reichstein, and I was born and raised in Colorado. I attended the University of Northern Colorado for my undergraduate degree in elementary education. Through this experience, I found that I loved working with kids and wanted to support them on a deeper level. This prompted me to further my education in the counseling realm, and I earned my Master's degree through Colorado Christian University, which started my journey as a therapist. I like to provide a therapeutic space with compassion, empathy and creativity, while being proactive and facilitating accountability to support desired change.

Throughout my years in the field, I have worked with a wide range of mental health conditions and diverse populations. I started my career working with adolescents in residential treatment for substance use, and provided therapeutic support through individual, group and family counseling. I enjoyed being a part of their journeys toward recovery. Some of my additional areas of speciality include Executive Functioning Coaching and Technology and Media Overuse. I currently work with adolescents, young adults, adults, couples and families. I support those who struggle with a variety of mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, social anxiety, family dynamics, ADHD, executive functioning, grief and trauma.

I believe in using mindfulness approaches while also using a person-centered approach, motivational interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Solution-Focused psychotherapy treatments. I believe in meeting people where they are to create a therapeutic experience that addresses the needs of each individual.

I believe that Brene Brown said it perfectly when she stated, “Daring greatly means the courage to be vulnerable, it means to show up and be seen, to ask for what you need, to talk about how you're feeling, to have the hard conversation.” I am here to support you in being vulnerable, showing up for yourself and your needs, and having the hard conversations to start the positive journey toward your goals. Let’s step into this journey of awareness, healing, and self-discovery to provide the transformation you desire.

Outside of being a therapist, I spend a lot of time with my family and friends. I love sports and attending sporting events. Although I did not attend the University of Colorado Boulder, I am a huge fan! I come from a long line of CU graduates and have bled black and gold my entire life. Go Buffs!

Solace Counseling Leadership Team

Amanda Wurst, LCSW

Founder & Owner

  • I come from a family of social workers, therapists and teachers. When it was time to choose my career in 1999/2000, there was no question about the direction I would go. I have spent much of my career in the child welfare realm, in clinical and supervisory roles. I currently work with adults 18 years and older, via confidential video tele-therapy and in-person, office visits.

Since working in private practice, my passion has centered around perinatal mental health. With 1 in 8 women experiencing anxiety, depression and life adjustment during this time in their lives (and beyond), I enjoy and am honored to provide this essential support to women and their families. It is a joy to see the truth that with treatment, women do get better. I am a member of, and trained through the Postpartum Support International (PSI).

I have also found an interest and a niche in working with couples. I practice using the Gottman Method from a renowned leader and researcher in this work, John Gottman. Over the years, I learned couples benefit from therapy during any point in their relationship.

I use a whole systems approach in my work, and humor when appropriate! I see humor as essential in life. My therapeutic approaches tend to fall more along the lines of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), where we identify potential faulty thinking that may be leading to unhelpful behavior. I also study and incorporate Mindfulness approaches that focus on connecting the mind and body. I particularly value the mental health benefits in the practice of yoga. I study the work of Brene Brown and Glennon Doyle Melton by incorporating their research and work on shame, guilt, authenticity and self-love. I am also involved in work and participate in a group that focuses on solidarity against racial injustice, and consider myself an advocate for other stigmatized groups.

In addition to providing outpatient mental health therapy and operating Solace Counseling (going into our 5th year), I also teach undergraduate Social Work students as an adjunct professor at a local college, as well as provide supervision to budding social workers/therapists.

I have lived in four states, 3 of which I attended college, the fourth one I sat in traffic (Chicago, IL)! Colorado has been calling my name from Nebraska for as long as I can remember. I finally made it out here in 2006 and found myself immersed into the mountain culture. I earned my Master degree in Social Work from University of Denver in 2006!

I am an Erie resident and am passionate about providing support within my own growing community, and the surrounding areas. I have a middle schooler, a 2nd grader, and a Labradoodle!

Tabitha Steiner, LPC, LAC

Partner & Owner

  • Thank you for considering Solace Counseling to partner with you on your therapeutic journey! My name is Tabitha Steiner, I am originally from the northern suburbs of Chicago, Illinois and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2010 from Washington University in St. Louis. I completed a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Lindenwood University in 2013. After living in St. Louis, Missouri for ten years, my family and I decided to move westward to be near the mountains, as we spend our free time enjoying all of the mountain sports. Colorado has to offer, from downhill mountain biking, to snowboarding; climbing 14ers to leisurely hikes along the front range!

I have known since I was a child that I wanted to be in the helping profession. When there was a big shift in my own family dynamics as a child, I had the benefits of working with a therapist, and I knew then that I wanted to help support others through their own periods of transition and change. When I first entered the counseling field, I worked exclusively with children and adolescents, and I have always been amazed by their resiliency. I have worked in a variety of different settings, from an elementary and middle school-based counselor, to working with high school students in residential and outpatient treatment. For the past several years, I have been working primarily with adults looking to improve their mental health and wellness as they navigate life changes and transitions. Additionally, I am licensed to work specifically with individuals in substance use recovery. I use a variety of counseling approaches, most often pulling from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing. I try to adapt my counseling approach to best fit the client, and don't believe there is a "one-size-fits-all" type of therapy. I also am an advocate for and ally to all those in the LGBTQIA+ community.

As the COO of Solace Counseling, I assist in many of the daily operations, including: responding to new client inquiries, working closely with and being the main point of contact for new clients, mentoring and supporting therapists on the team and assisting with business development and community relations.

It is always such a privilege to be able to share in my clients' wellness journeys, and I love being able to help promote the health and healing of fellow residents right here in my Erie community. I am now working primarily with clients ages 8 through adulthood, and am providing virtual tele-therapy and in-person appointments at this time. I work collaboratively with my clients to identify goals they have for themselves, and help them to process through transitions and life changes. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you!
